    Patricia Forde is from Galway on the west coast of Ireland. She has published several picture books in Irish and in English, including To The Island, which was commissioned by Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture and published by Little Island Books. She has also published three novels for children with Little Island. She has won two White Raven awards and has twice been shortlisted for the Children’s Books Ireland Book of the Year.

    Patricia is married to Padraic and has two grown up children. She still lives in Galway, the best city in the world.

    When Patricia was a small child, she was afraid of the monster who lived under her bed until he invited her to a midnight feast, and that changed everything.

     

    About the Illustrator
     

    Elina Brasli a is an illustrator from Latvia. She has illustrated more than twenty books so far, and was the production designer for the animated film Jacob, Mimmi and the Talking Dogs (2019). Elina’s work has been nominated for local and international awards, and she has received the Zelta Abele Award for Book Design four times, as well as the Janis Baltvilks Baltic Sea Region Award. She is also an artist and printmaker – her work has been exhibited both in Latvia and abroad. Elina is sometimes afraid of speaking in front of large crowds, so she imagines everyone in the audience is dozing off and not really hearing what she’s saying.
